My Story

Dapo Studio was founded as a space for slow observation and drawing. The practice began with a sustained interest in the human figure and the way form emerges through light, shadow, and restraint. Working primarily in charcoal and graphite, the studio approaches drawing as a process of reduction — removing excess in order to reveal presence.

Much of the work develops through the study of classical sculpture and the human body, not as acts of reproduction, but as conversations with form, weight, and balance. These references provide a structure within which contemporary drawing can unfold, guided by attention rather than imitation.

The studio process is deliberate and tactile. Charcoal and graphite are chosen for their immediacy and material honesty, allowing marks to remain visible and decisions to stay present in the finished work. Drawings are built gradually, through layered tones and softened transitions, favoring clarity over detail.

Today, Dapo Studio presents original drawings, signed fine art prints, and selected studio objects. Each piece is produced with care, with an emphasis on material quality and longevity. The work is offered not as decoration, but as a quiet presence meant to be lived with over time.
